Just 500 metres from our properties for renting is the Timanfaya National Park, with its fantastic array of black and red volcanoes which stand out under the impressive clear blue sky. The most bizarre rock formations from previous volcanic eruptions can be found at El Golfo, with its green lagoon and black sand beaches, or further south at Janubio with its green, red and white pools from the old salt marshes. Further south is Ajache National Park and the home of Paragayo beaches, a string of naturally formed coves with white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. Heading north is La Playa de Famara, with its long stretch of beach overlooked by a magnificent 600 metre high cliff. Close

The gastronomical delights of Lanzarote are simple and tasty, made from local produce consisting mainly fresh fish. In Puerto del Carmen some 5kms from our rural villas in Lanzarote you will find “Pescaderia Chano” where fresh fish is sold on a daily basis. Highly recommended is a fresh fish barbeque.
Lanzarote is also famous for its wine making, just some 2 kilometres from Casa Gaida you will find wineries offering samples of their wines. Lanzarote has a wide selection of restaurants on offer offering local delicacies such as “papas arrugadas con mojo”, which a small canarian potatoes with a spicy or garlic dip. The “paella” is also a must.
